Tears, Trials, and Travels
My husband went to be with Jesus in May 2016. Yes, I'm still grieving. I homeschool my kids. If you were in my position, wouldn't you travel around the country for a year?

Pacing Ourselves and Keeping Peace

We finally made it to Seattle in case you wanted to know. How did we get here? I was not looking forward to a 1500 mile drive. I was already a week behind schedule and didn’t want to overdo things. So we drove around 225 miles a day as to not exhaust myself. I also had to do a lot of work to keep the bickering and yelling down. All in all it was a pretty good week

We went to Grand Junction and saw my niece at her college and also stayed at a friends house

Kid X accidentally left the battery on in the car so it had to be jump started.

We proceeded through Utah and spent an extra day in Twin Falls, Idaho for Church, sightseeing, and a Corn maze

We proceeded to Baker City, Oregon where we celebrated my late great husband’s birthday.

Kid X left the battery on in the car again (although adamantly denied) so we had to jumpstart it again

On Halloween we drove to Pasco, Washington. The girls dressed up and Kid Y didn’t properly unhook our slide so a giant piece of it got ripped off (luckily an easy fix with a screwdriver which we store right next to where this happened)

We went to the Directors cut of Little Shop of Horrors that night. (Yikes- Audrey and Seymour both get eaten by the plant)

We had a long drive the next day on a very curvy mountain pass in the rain. It was stressful but I made it to my cousins house just fine. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Blessings

  • Slower pace
  • Lots of fighting, yet it seemed a little less than usual!
  • Tried to spend time with the kids watching movies along the way
  • Some math was actually done this week
  • Had a little downtime. Pacing myself is kind of nice- not very productive, but nice

Harmonie’s Corner

We got to see my cousin who was at college and stayed with some of my friends who are around four years old in Grand Junction.

Then we went to Provo, Utah.

Then we went to Twin Falls, Idaho and they named the city after the falls and they used to have two Falls that looked the same and now they only have one fall now that looks really boring, so boring none of us took a picture. We also went to a corn maze. On my dad’s birthday we went to a restaurant we were going to go to a Red Robin but they didn’t have one in Idaho so we went to dine in!

We went to Oregon and just stayed in an RV Park. In Washington was my favorite RV Park there was an indoor pool a hot tub. When we signed in we got free candy. Then we made it to Seattle what I’ve been waiting all along I was born to be a Seattle person. Halloween was fun.
