Tears, Trials, and Travels
My husband went to be with Jesus in May 2016. Yes, I'm still grieving. I homeschool my kids. If you were in my position, wouldn't you travel around the country for a year?

Historic Virginia

Can you imagine that I have some MORE incredible cousins taking care of us? I’m so comfortable that I’m finally in a hurry to make it home. Being in the comfort of a home, spread out, with WiFi… it’s been nice.

So we made it to Virginia. We visited Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. It’s a lot of history. In school I hated history and as an adult I’ve grown to like it a lot more… but some days it’s hard to get the kids excited when I’m dragging.

After that, we went to Western Virginia to visit our cousins. We had many plans, but pretty much rested the whole time (except going to Monticello and Natural Bridge). It was nice. I’m starting to get my affairs in order for when we get back home, and making some decisions about the future. I’m ready.

The RV? Well…maybe I was crazy and there was nothing wrong with it. It’s been on the shop for a week and he’s not found anything wrong yet. He’s checking one more thing tomorrow and I’ll know for sure. I hope there’s nothing wrong. I’m thinking that maybe it happened just so I wouldn’t have to drive into DC (again). Driving in DC in an RV is super stressful and even though it’s not as great as the rv, I’m excited to be in a motel this coming week. It’s like a weight has been lifted (plus my relatives are watching bear bear for us this week). I can only live for today at this point and today I feel pretty good.

Blessings

  • Have I mentioned my terrific extended family??
  • Hopefully I’m just crazy and there is nothing wrong with the rv
  • I didn’t have to live in the rv this week
  • There is a glimmer of hope that I may be able to face the future.

Harmony’s Corner

Historic, Historic, Historic….. Having fun with cousins. We went to Williamsburg and explored there; went to museums and other things. Next we did Jamestown where Pocahontas lived back in the old days. Zoe and I won pencils. (Sadly Bear Bear ate my favorite pencil.) Last we went to Yorktown and we did a audio tour where you just drive around and listen to what they say on the CD.

Then we went to Lexington, Virginia to visit our Cousins. They had dogs. One was named Duff and one was named Kate. Bear Bear LOVED playing with Duff. (Spoiler Alert: Kate didn’t want to play with Duff and Bear Bear.) Bear Bear is with them while we are in DC.
