Tears, Trials, and Travels
My husband went to be with Jesus in May 2016. Yes, I'm still grieving. I homeschool my kids. If you were in my position, wouldn't you travel around the country for a year?

Mrs. Jones goes to Washington

I don’t quite know why I should be learning lessons on rest, pacing myself, and my lower threshold for activity when I have to come back to Denver, reinsert myself into the workforce and become a single mother. Yikes.

We left our RV at the mechanics to check it out (he never did find anything wrong with it except a plugged up fuel filter that SOMEONE should have found before now) and stayed at a motel. I was happy not to have the pressure of driving in DC in my RV and the pressure of thinking about it (or our dog).

While in DC, there were days we stayed inside museums to get out of the cold, and there were days we ripped through our sightseeing lists so quickly we had extra time. Extra time to see yet another thing? No. We didn’t spend one overwhelming sunup to sundown day in DC. I’ve always associated myself with those people who go and go and do and do but I never can seem to do as much, especially now. We all know about how we shouldn’t try to “keep up with the Joneses” but we always think that means money and nice things. It seems like it really means “keeping up” (like on a run).

At the end of the week we were exhausted and decided to spend Saturday resting – except that we hated our motel. Not half as good as the RV or 1/10 as good as my cousins’ house. My cousin texted at 10am and said we could come back a day early and we were checked out of the motel in 45 minutes to spend an extra day of rest with them before the big next leg.

I am so ready to come home, but we still have a few weeks of travel left…this will be tricky.

Blessings

The RV only cost $180 to fix (although who knows if it’s actually fixed)

Family

Break from the RV (although the motel was horrible in comparison to it)

Bear Bear’s Corner

Before this trip, I thought I should always be in charge when other dogs came to visit. All these cousin dogs have been so great to me and I’ve grown and matured over this last year. In fact, I’ve had so much fun with other dogs that Mommy promised me I’d get a dog of my own when we get back!

Then we came here. It was awesome! My cousin dogs and I had so much fun together and then my family left for a few days to go somewhere and I got to stay! I’m embarrassed to say that I almost didn’t even notice my family was gone because of how much fun we had. We barked at deer, took walks, and even had a spa day. I’m sad to leave, but excited to get back to Denver so I can have my own dog!

Harmony’s Corner

Once we got to Washington D.C we went to the Lincoln Memorial. My mom and I re-did a picture from 10 years ago.

Zoe and I did this cool picture That looked like this.

Zoe did this nice meaningful caption on her Instagram and posted this picture. Go check it out at @zoe_.angel.

Next we went to the White House. We only saw five rooms but it’s better than not going at all. After we left the White House we saw Donald Trump in his car pass by! (By the way the stuff we went to is not in order just so you know.)

Next we went to the Capitol and went on an audio tour. We saw this cool picture in the Capitol.

Next we went to the Library Of Congress. All we did there was go on a guided tour. Here is this picture of me by the books at the Library Of Congress.
